The Other Side Of The Pier

We decided to have a day out in Clevedon today. So did hundreds of other people. However, once we got onto the coastal path on the other side of the pier from the promenade, which follows the Bristol Channel upstream towards Portishead, we pretty much had it to ourselves and were able to enjoy the sunshine, bracing breeze and views of Wales on the opposite side.

Mind you, when we got back to the town the pubs and restaurants were packed with waiting times of an hour or more for food, so we ate fish and chips straight from the wrapper with our fingers, sitting on the sea wall - perfick! (as Pa Larkins would say; it was the sort of day that used to feature so prominently in the H.E. Bates' stories)

So here you have a view of the famous pier, from the other, quieter side. Go large for a close look at the architecture
