Lucky ducks are small handmade glass ducks in various transparent colours and weatherwise lucky ducks have a special coating that changes colour to indicate the weather, have been made and sold in Whitby glass for 55 years.

Whitby glass is a small group of artists and craftsmen working in glass in the North East of England, at the workbench within the shop visitors may see the lucky ducks actually been made in 12 jewellike colours which match the gemstones considered lucky for each month of the year.

Whitby lucky ducks are the original lucky ducks and are protected by copyright. They were first made for friends in the theatrical professions who always carry an amulet or charm with them on the stage or in front of the cameras.
Since then tens of thousands have been sold to holidaymakers, actors film and TV personalities and to people in all walks of life from the famous to the man and woman in the street.
