unappreciated beauty

It's always kind of surprising when we get a wood pigeon in the garden, "acting like a normal bird"...! But then it made me think that most people are prejudiced against pigeons in general ("winged rats" and all that), but in fact, they're quite beautiful birds and add a lovely note to the evening songs.
