Dressing up

Today has been a dressing up kind of a day.
The boy was straight into the dressing up box when he woke up, looking for a sword. He wanted to be a knight. Led to a chat about what he wants to be when he's "a grown up like daddy". First thing he came out with was "when I'm big I'll be able to reach the playdoh and play with it ALL the time" (cue guilt-struck mummy moment - playdoh and paint are really the only playthings we keep out of constant reach). So you can probably guess how we spent much of the morning. Up to our elbows in playdoh. Lily was wearing a fairy dress and seemed to enjoy squishing it into her tutu and making patterns with the sequins imprinting.

After lunch they moved onto doctor and patient...
"Mummy, does anything hurt?"
"Hmm I have a bit of a headache"
"Yes I can see its moving into your legs"
"Oh dear, is it really?"
"Yep. I just check your reflections (*sic* he means reflexes) with my hammer..."
(any excuse to hit me with a hammer it would seem lol)

Lily got off a bit more lightly. She very patiently laid down and let him look in her eyes and ears and mouth, and prod her with his "safety scissors".

Before bedtime he was playing chefs, baking cookies for us and making noodles and meatballs in the toy kitchen.

Enjoyed watching Live from Space tonight.
More like this please! Fascinating stuff.
