The Ponds, Queen's Park, Glasgow

Two ponds at different levels. The upper Nature Pond, with moorhens, coots and tufted ducks. The swans frequent the lower, larger pond which is used for model boat displays.

The Park, dedicated to Mary Queen of Scots, was laid out by Sir Joseph Paxton in 1857. It was the site of the sixteenth century Battle of Langside. I have heard it said that many soldiers are buried under the pond. The Battlefield Monument lies at the top of the hill, just beyond the park gates.

Does the tree on the island have a virus?
