The fool on the hill

It is thought that within the shallow depression pictured here lies the answer to life, the universe and everything and that those rucks are caused by ripples in the gravitational field some scientists have just found evidence for. But the reality is that these fluctuations in the fabric of our sofa are caused by my son Arthur's backside (see yesterday's blip).
So (as all scientists insist on starting a sentence with), they've found some evidence of inflation from when the universe went from being smaller than an atom to the size of a marble. This is plain wrong and scientists shouldn't go around broadcasting such silly analogies. The universe has always been the size of the universe. It's our frame of reference that has contracted... and we are now all living inside an enormous universe the size of an enormous marble. Or one maybe that's a bit smaller than an even more enormous atom.
