Urban Decay?

I'd had a lovely wander in the north of town, got lost and was on the bus home, which stopped opposite, and with an eye-level view of, Starbucks coffee house.

I love these windows, which are much more elegant than the bland 1960's plate-glass -and-concrete inflicted on us by an over-zealous 'modernising' council.

It troubles me, however, that Starbucks, while astutely avoiding contributing to the tax coffers until a few months ago, also avoid basic maintenance of the property they are anxious for us to use. As you can see in large, the paintwork is so poor that the window frame is exposed, especially on the window ledge. This is also visible from the street.

Even if it is their landlord, rather than Starbucks themselves, who are responsible for upkeep, someone should take the initiative and call in the decorators before these charming windows rot away. They have their reputation to consider.
