Freedom to move...

Today was my first day back at work after Princes Street got re-opened after completion of it's stretch of tram lines.

I came to the conclusion a while back that there really is no point in contesting thoughts regarding the ins and outs of the political hot potatoe that they seen to have become. I was a bit irked when someone told of that someone was trying to manoeuvre money from the new Forth Bridge into the tram project. I think the new Forth crossing is a lot more essential than Edinburgh trams but we've started so...

Anyway, it is brilliant to be able to cross Princes Street at whichever point I choose. At the time I go along it, pre-8:00am, there is very little pedestrian or road traffic and so it has this odd feel of vast openess.

It does look very good and it would appear that the shops are being re-developed in parallel. There is a new outdoor shop and a really flash looking Urban Outfitters with a brilliantly designed shop front. A lot more befitting of Scotland's famous shopping street than the 'Everything a Pound' and Tartan Tatt shops we've had to endure for the last couple of years.

Oh, and, they've put the middle pavement back in. Brilliant.

Note on something completely different...
How hard is it to spell manoeuvre?!!?? That's one screwed up word...
