Is that a Mediterranean Gull ?

Well yes of course it was.

We visited the RSPB Nature Reserve at Old Moor in South Yorkshire today.

I had planned RSPB Dovestones for a walk but there was a concern that there was a lack of an obvious Coffee Shop/Tea Room. I thought we were going looking for birds but in fact Coffee and Scones were a big part of the deal.

Old Moor's award winning cafe was the place to be so we had early lunch and afternoon tea there. It went down well.

Yes I did see the gull but only because it had been mentioned when we 'signed in' and a helpful young man pointed it out at the Family hide.

The birds I enjoyed seeing were Yellowhammers & Tree Sparrows both seen in the car park in the first few minutes after arriving :-)
