Mum, 87

Mum is waiting patiently for me to take this picture - I brought my camera out at a restaurant while we were waiting for the food to be served (my dad promised me a birthday dinner, and it was lovely!). My mum has recently had her hair done, and she is dressed up, but it is hard for me to recognize her in this photo, even though I like the expression in her eyes. She is self-conscious about her teeth, and always smiles with her lips closed, so posed photos of her always look a little false to me. This is not the photo I would like to take of my mum, but I will keep trying to catch her unaware.
