Iceland's Iconic Horses

In England it's sheep, In Iceland it's horses. These small hardy animals are everywhere.

I had so many pictures to choose from for today's blip, but decided not to post a shot of one of the usual tourist attractions - a few of which we visited on Sunday on our 'Golden Circle' tour. These included the Kerio Volcanic Crater, the famous Gulfoss double waterfall, the Geysir geothermal area and the huge and beautiful Thingvellir lake. The highlight though was sitting outside in the naturally hot water at the Fontana hot spa baths at Laugavatn while it was snowing. Awesome!

Coming back from there was a real challenge as Ros ended up driving through mountain passes in blizzards. I nearly blipped a picture of that experience...

It was a great trip, even without the Northern Lights.
