Star of Caledonia - and a burd

Day off today but popped into the Scottish Parliament to see the Star of Caledonia model, visiting for a couple of days, and a smaller George Wyllie Berlin Burd, which is now resident (there's a mini Berlin Burd too, further into the Parliament).

Discussion with various people about James Clerk Maxwell (the genious inspiration for the Star, arts & science collaborations, the Street drama project in Hamilton and George Wyllie Greenock connections - including the question marks in the Clyde.

The Star of Caledonia seemed to have found the best pitch in Parliament, with MSPs walking past to get to the Chamber - many of them stopping for a chat, admiring and commenting on the beauty of the design. Much enthusiasm from friendly MSPs of many parties. And quite a few blips to be found! So proud that contemporary art has a place in my Parliament!

On the basis that I'll see the Berlin Burd in the Parliament again, the Star of Caledonia won the blip-vote.
