Cartwright Hall, Bradford

Cartwright Hall is situated in Lister Park, still sometimes known locally as Manningham Park, and is Bradford’s civic art gallery. The building was constructed in 1898 on the site of Manningham Hall in what was originally known as Manningham Park, an area that had been sold to the City of Bradford in 1870 for half of its value by Lord Masham, and which had been allowed to deteriorate. It was built in what has become known as ‘Bradford baroque’ style.
