Barnhill Rock Garden

Backblip

This was taken on a visit to this lovely garden at Broughty Ferry, near Dundee. This is Puschkinia, which you might think was named in honour of the great Russian writer Pushkin, but was actually named after a Russian botanist with the wonderful name of Apollo Mussin-Pushkin (no doubt a distant relative of the great man!)

The garden was a delight, with masses of spring bulbs everywhere, set off by evergreen shrubs and overlooking the Firth of Tay. It was very cold the day we visited, but it must be a lovely place for a picnic when it is warmer.
