Aloe Vera

A plant I would not do without in the kitchen! It is brilliant for scalds or minor burns: just snap off a leaf and rub the juice on the scald. Soon the pain and the inflammation will have disappeared.

Apparently this plant was a burial gift for the pharaohs in Egypt and recorded 6,000 years ago. It is now widely used in medicine and cosmetics.

Today is the day we get our TB results. Tim and his team worked hard getting the animals back through the cattle crush while N and I went out for a pub lunch with friends, a farmer and his wife. A is suffering with cancer and has battled with it for years. We had a good meal and took our minds off his illness and our TB test. Martin Clunes was also eating in the pub with his mates.

When we returned home T was there with the news. We have just scraped through! T had had an awful time as while they were lining up the cattle he saw a multitude of lumps and bumps on their necks and felt quite ill in that they would be positive and we would be closed down and we would lose all those cattle. Fortunately the vet sorted out the results on each animal identifying and measuring the results. The larger ones were those of Avian TB and not Bovine TB!
