Soap statue

Bright sunny day in London and I nipped out to look at yarn in the nearby John Lewis store. There's a small square, Cavendish Square, close to John Lewis with several statues.

I had assumed that this grand man on horseback had seen better days but it turns out (on Googling) that the statue was only erected in 2012 and was only meant to be temporary. It is made of soap - which explains why it looks so cracked and why bits are gradually falling off - he's lost a leg and an arm. . It has lasted longer than expected already. I'll have to pop back and see how it is doing later in the year.

There's more about the sculpture here: Statue
