Swans return

While walking around the Cocksburn reservoir, now a fishing reserve, I was delighted to see a pair of swans had returned

The last time they nested they had reared four cygnets on a little island close to the shore.

Unfortuantely it was a dry summer, - we do have such things- the water level sank and then they were found dead. We suspect foxes.
