Going down

Five of us went for a hillwalk today on a route up Ben Chonzie that does a circuit of Loch Turret (reached by a narrow, pot-holed road).
Heading toward the hills we realised there had been much more fresh snow than we thought but weren't worried as it is a very rounded hill. We were a bit worried about the forecast strong winds and heavy snow showers, but neither were too bad, though the cloud was down on the highest bits.
It wasn't an easy walk as the snow was very variable in depth and sudden descent through it to the thighs happened fairly regularly but in other places it was only a couple of inches. It was soft and creaky and not really possible to slide far so wasn't the hazard it could have been.
The descent could have been tricky but we chose the right route down to the little lochan and then to the track beside the loch - and we even had sun for the last part after the snow showers cleared.
It was an exhilarating day in good company.
