Champignons

Champignons a la Greque is a posh name for mushrooms in a yummy sauce, with tomatoes, shallots, herbs and a good slug of white wine, all simmered together until the flavours blend. This will be the starter for the "ladies who lunch" who will be here tomorrow as it is my turn to be host to the six of us. I get in a real panic about them coming but once I've got the menu sorted and the shopping done I calm down a bit! We still have three courses and cheese which is a bit over the top for a weekday lunch, but that is what they like. It is only a couple of years ago that I persuaded them to cut down from three desserts to two!
