Up in the clouds

A wee break to the NW Highlands for LHRH. RH had never been to Fort William before, but LH had never been to a ski resort in a gondola. Granted RH was in the Alps the last time, but the trip to the Nevis Range was an enjoyable one, with lunch and hot chocolates at the top of the mountain.

Afterwards we checked into our hotel and managed to avoid torrential downpours with our walk around the town and the obligatory close inspection of Inverlochy Castle. Bewildering why Fort William doesn't make a bigger play of the fact it has one of the most impressive 13th century castles in Scotland, where 3 important battles wee fought.

Lovely bar meal in the town followed by a mini pub crawl. Good to get away.
