Oh, you are awful

This caught my eye when we went for a walk on Craigower, near Pitlochry. We were travelling north to Laggan for a mountaineering club meet, and the weather wasn't great, so we went for a short walk in the forest. Apparently, a log is defined as "a section of a tree bole at least 8 feet long, not containing a fork, sufficiently straight and sound enough to yield at least an 8-foot board". A butt is defined as "first log cut above the stump, also known as butt cut". So I guess a big butt log is very big.

Perhaps the logs are destined for the US market, or is that a cheeky comment.
