Stourhead

Went for a walk round the lake at Stourhead after looking round Wincanton Garden Centre. I always try to visit when the wild daffodils are out around the estate. I love them. Some of the ducks were wandering through them- vey pretty.

Sadly, lots of the really magnificent trees have fallen in the winter storms . The root systems on them are incredible. The trail revealing the tragic story of the heir to Stourhead who died in 1917 was very moving. I read the little signs as I walked around. My memory card ran out so I had to a big delete! Then the battery went- note to self' 'must be more organised'.
