Texture,

K took me to Dawyck (pronounced Doik) today.

Spring is beginning to take hold. Their rhododendrons were apparently in beautiful bloom, but a sharp frost turned the blossom to mush and the pom-poms hung on the bushes like wet confetti.

But there were several pheasants strutting their stuff and the spruce, fir and pine were all green and fragrant and lovely.

The narcissus made sharp patches of colour and small bright green shoot were evident everywhere.

Think we need to go back in six weeks or so to see the best.
