Flower practice

I am going to the Orchid Show tomorrow at the NY Botanical Gardens. I thought I would practice with my extension tubes for macro photography. I find it complicated to focus, tried both auto and manual focus. Unfortunately, the Botanical Gardens doesn't allow tripods inside for the orchid show so who knows what kind of pictures I will get for macro? Hopefully, I can get some good ones with the usual lenses.
