How I See It!

Boston Stump

Here is one on my favourite spots.

Boston Stump is the church tower that can be seen for miles across the Lincolnshire fens.

It's believed the name of Boston is derived from the granite stone the enormous church tower sits on. The church is St.Botolphs and it sits on the stone. Hence BOtolphs-STONe.

And that's how the name is thought to have been derived.

You can walk inside to the top of the Stump and see as far as Lincoln Cathedral.
