RRS Discovery

When I'm heading towards Aberdeen to catch the ferry north I regularly stop off in Dundee, and quite often at Discovery Point on the Dundee waterfront which is home to RRS Discovery, originally built for the British National Antarctic Expedition in 1901.

The ship has, as far as possible, been restored to the configuration it was originally in; this picture is taken in Edward Wilson's science and photography lab on the ship.

Well worth a visit if you're in the area, and have a predilection for things Polar.
