A Day At A Time.

Mac 3

The windows are now firmly closed in my house. All PCs have now been converted to Macs and this is the last to roll out: the media centre machine which runs my music and movie collection. With Apple TV to enhance the experience, we now have rings on our fingers and bells on our toes.

Recently, there has been a lot of publicity about the great Alan Turing, codebreaker and "father of the computer". Gordon Brown officially apologised in 2010 for the appalling treatment he received when prosecuted for homosexuality, and the Queen pardoned him on Christmas Eve.

A film about him is being made, with Benedict Cumberpatch putting aside his deerstalker for a slide-rule and pencil.

It is interesting to note that Turing committed suicide by injecting an apple with cyanide. He took one bite from the poisoned apple and it killed him.

I wonder how that might have inspired Steve Jobs!
