This is a lovely mining banner made by the Year 5 children from my local school. I worked with them about a year ago on it, they first learnt traditional crafts such as proggy, batik, quilting, appliqué and many more to make it. They then designed it using local heritage resources. It was made over 6 weeks, then put together. Over the years the school has made 6 banners linking local heritage to the curriculum. This, though, I must admit is one of my favourites!
