New Life

Our little horse-chestnut has decided to burst back into life and not bother with another gap-year. It grows so slowly you can really notice its painstaking, daily progress. Yesterday it was just starting to uncurl, tomorrow the two leaves might have moved slightly apart. It's a welcome return, unlike some other unwelcome visitors.

The seagulls are starting to reappear after their winter holiday in Portugal and are already waking us up with their infernal screeching. Grrrr! So I'm pleased that the weather has turned a darn sight colder, that'll teach them to stay on the Costa del Seagull.

But even more annoyingly, a couple of clothes moths have just been caught and despatched as a goldfish aperitif. I was hoping we might have got rid of them but obviously not. The war will continue....
