Masterpiece

Feb. 10-12 my blips were about a dyeing workshop I attended. At the end, we two students got to divide the wool that we had dyed. I commissioned the rug dyers/weavers who had taught the class to make a rug for us with my part. Today we went to Teotitlán to get the finished rug. This is the rug, hand-dyed with indigo, cochineal (red dye made from an insect that grows on a certain cactus), and other local plants, and hand-woven. The woman holding the right side of the rug is the artist. Her daughter is a future artist!
