Exactly 50 years ago today at 12:00 midday dj Simon Dee announced " on 199 metres this is Radio Caroline your all day music station" and then played The Rolling Stones Not Fade Away. the swinging sixties had arrived
Today there was a ceremony to mark the occasion at Walton on the Naze. It was performed by capt. Campbell who had been captain of the radio caroline ship Ross Revenge in the 1980's
