The Swing, the Bank and the Bin

One can just make out the European Central Bank in the distance. It is interesting that Frankfurt now, not only has a 'Mainhatten' which mimics New York, but also a microcosmic skyline (seen here) that is symbolic of the view looking out of Central Park (in this case Ostpark). There is a lot of deliberate and also coincidental symmetry in the world.

This is a picture of a swing in the foreground. You can make out a bin behind it. Then the 'rubbish' that will be the playground of the new Euro fat cat bankers. The swing, is in a material sense, a play thing for games and fun - usually by the innocent. The bank is the ultimate symbol of a materialistic world and society, driven by an insatiable appetite for conspicuous consumption. The bin is where we put our rubbish - material goods usually from a disposable society.

Materiality, when you come to think about it, is really interesting and often rather worrying and depressing. We may have to look beyond it, to physicality and also form and spirituality perhaps. I am learning (and/or making it up) as I go here - so bear with me for the next few hundred blips !!
