It is Saturday

This is Pen y Bryn (head of the hill) beach owned and protected by the National Trust on the coast of Cardiganshire, West Wales. And a most beautiful place to sit and sketch towards the end of a lovely day in this area.

I was inspired by the light on the sea and fortunately there was a fisherman there for interest, scale and focal point. The light kept changing and we more or less had the beach to ourselves.

Afterwards I met up with the fisherman - but he was not fishing - he was practicing his spinning! It is a sport in itself and the world record is about 320 metres - WOW!. He explained the different categories of weight and line and that the best at this can cast further than the max distance of golf balls from the best golfers. Well - everyday it is possible to learn new things!.
