Norman

Many years ago, the year after I had left Uni, I shared a rented house with a good friend I had met at Uni. (Coincidentally he now lives in the same village). For some reason one day we decided to respond to some junk post and adopt a duck (a new idea then). I chose some fancy duck but he wanted an ordinary duck, a mallard and he called him a good ordinary name, Norman. We laughed about how Norman could be a good working class duck with a flat cap.

Anyway the next morning he was leaving for work and shouted back Normans here already ! On the small front lawn was 2 mallards, very strange as we were in the middle of a housing estate !!

One of those daft things I will never forget :))
