Forsyth(ia) Saga

The genus is named after William Forsyth (1737–1804) a Scottish botanist who was royal head gardener and a founding member of the Royal Horticultural Society. - Wikipedia.

You can also see the perfect crescent of Plane Trees, of which there are a multitude to be seen in Frankfurt. They are aggressively pruned - but this seems to help them thrive.

Material? The trees create a sense of order amongst busy urban living. This is reinforced by the pruning, which is a form of management to give them a regimented look. The forsythia creates a mass of yellow. This provides colour that contrasts with the (Plane) Trees. The affordance then derives from the walkway - which invites you to follow it to the end. The family outing certainly demonstrates this.

Blue sky, yellow flowers, line of trees, flat path = "Go for a walk"
