The stubs

Why these stubs today?
I wanted to do some photoshopping and make the picture more abstract:
Lots of the following: blacks, brightness, saturation and no clarity.
I can find also practical explanation (perhaps not so good one): This is a reminder for me to take these stubs away to make firewood of them. On a stone they are safe and don't get wet.
