Edward Bright

Today we wandered down to Maldon, enjoying the weather and the space after a busy Saturday. This photo is of a plaque of Edward Bright, who lived in Church House in Maldon & died aged 29. He increased in size and sent his waistcoat to be let out. A bet was made that seven hundred men could fit into the waistcoat. The bet was won when seven men from Chafford Hundred were buttoned “with ease” inside the waistcoat.
