In the bud

Kewpie

Sorting through boxes.
I spent a small fortune on hiring a skip for the weekend, with the aim of clearing twenty years of clutter in three days. My mantra, 'if it's not important, let it go' , worked for a while. But then we got to the corners of the cupboards, and the backs of the shelves... Archaeologically speaking I was looking at the primordial stage of our little family's beginnings. This kewpie doll was given to me by my husband before he was my husband, after I spotted it in a Melbourne shop up the road from our one bedroom hovel . He gave it to me for our six month anniversary .
If it's not important,
I would have let it go.
