Firefighter for a Day

Today I helped run a Firefighter for a Day in support of The Firefighter's Charity.

It rained. And rained. And then one of the folk on the course "accidentally" soaked me.

With varying degrees of enthusiasm the 6 who had won/paid to be on the day got a chance to practice casualty handling techniques, door entry with high pressure hosereels, got a shot on the hydraulic platform (see pic) and took part in two exercises in our gas-fire rig wearing Breathing Apparatus.

All of this went to support the fantastic work that the Firefighter's Charity does to help injured firefighters and their families.
