Onesie wednesday.

Today is the day. It's onesie Wednesday and today is World Autism Awareness Day.

For those who don't know what autism is please google it. Next time you see a young person in a supermarket or swimming pool, playground or other public place having what you think is a tantrum over what you perceive as 'nothing' could actually be the end of the world for that young person if they have autism.

It is hard for someone who has autism to carry out tasks which we take for granted and equally difficult for their families who know that each time a trip for just a pint of milk could be like a marathon run.

There are lots of examples I could give some people with autism are sensitive to touch and even water from a shower can feel like sandpaper on their skin.

Today we wore our onesies to support those with autism and to give the message that it is okay to be different.. So if you haven't worn your onesie yet there is still time on Onesie Wednesday.
