restlessness

Earlier today we were talking about all of the residency programs that Leah wants to apply to. It made me super excited and kind of sad at the same time, as any talks of moving brings. But I am really ready to move next year, ideally (for me at least) out of Texas. I will greatly and terribly miss all the friends I've made and positive experiences I've had—this is a given. And we are still about a year out from all of this, but a year is not that long (especially since I’ll be spending it writing a dissertation); plus, who knows, we may stay here after all—several of the programs are still in Texas. But the possibilities are invigorating: Chicago, NYC, (I think these first two are the most exhilarating potentials) Denver, Austin, Seattle, Madison, Sacramento. But I am definitely ready for a new adventure, somewhere new, and I think somewhere big. Though anywhere will do. We could end up in Birmingham, AL or one of the Carolinas. Worth repeating: anywhere will do. Any where.
