Yellow

This is the courier post depot around the corner from my office. A very utilitarian building, for a strictly utilitarian function. Yet within the necessary simplicity, low maintenance, functionality, the architect has created something very pleasing.

Splashes of signature yellow against plain grey concrete. A striated facade formed by using T-Form precast concrete flooring units for both structure & finished face. Two very simple moves lift this large, low, box out of the banal & add something to the neighbourhood instead of detract.
