Interesting Angle

Was on my way to the launch of the new strategy for youth work today when I caught a glimpse of St Mary's Cathedral through the trees, (the session was fabulous and a really good start to launching this great piece of work-well done Jim and team).

I think this blip would have made a wonderful shot if it had been sunny because it's not too bad in the misty haar of the rain. Many years ago we held an event in the Cathedral's Church Hall round the corner, it was one of the memorable ones, in a big old hall full of character, a bit like the people inside, full of character.

It reminded me of just how much we forget about the things that have happened in our lives and I often wonder why - maybe it's to make room for new things we put in there. I also came across this old quote that we've used to help groups think about some of their experiences and prepare for remembering them.

“Did you ever look back at some moment in your past and have it suddenly grow so vivid that all the intervening years seemed brief, dreamlike, impersonal-the motions of a May afternoon surrendered to routine?”
