Primula veris ‘Sunset Shades’

The common cowslip is an upright yellow primrose found in damp meadows of temperate Europe and Asia. This was a magical and medicinal herb in the olden days (even Hildegard von Bingen of musical fame mentions it). Today, we have some pretty hybrids and selections including these orange, rust, and red varieties known as ‘Sunset Shades.’ Lightly fragrant, they bring a cheerful color to our spring garden.
