Erythronium tuolumnense

Yellow "Dog's Tooth Violets" (Erythronium tuolumnense) are now forcing their way upwards through the leaf mould that has accumulated on the woodland floor.

Some (such as this one) have actually speared some of last autumn's leaves on their way up!
