Curlew on Morecambe Bay Mudflats.

Morecambe Bay is the largest expanse of intertidal mudflats and sand in the UK, covering a total area of 310km2/120 sq m. Curlews feed on mud or very soft ground, searching for worms and other invertebrates with their long bills. In this photograph, the curlew is very small, but I wanted to include some of the curious shapes in the mudflats.
