C00t at Chantilly Chateau

With our friend Gregory (visiting from London), we took a train and taxi expedition about 30 km north of Paris to the Château de Chantilly. It is a superbly designed castle, home to a series of important figures in French history and transformed a number of times over the centuries. It includes the Musée Condé, a top-quality collection of paintings, and many other wonderfully decorated rooms.

This is a side view of the castle, from the near edge of the formal gardens which the castle overlooks. Other than a few mallards, this Eurasian Coot in the left foreground was the only bird we saw on the several ponds. This is not a close view, but I do like to include birds when I can :)
