Reaching for the Light

Today was perfect to be in the Osborne House Swiss Woods with the volunteers, where with all the bonfires finished for the season we started work on cutting out willow and sycamore saplings to enable more light to fall on the forest floor to encourage more growth for the native trees.

At last the woods are bursting into life with new growth all around, birds singing and a couple of red squirrels watching us. Not a bad place to get some needed exercise and so much better than a smelly gym.
