Interesting!!!

Or not, especially if you don't like flies.

This one's a whopper, and I honestly can't ID it. It's not a March or Horse fly, the head is too small, and the eyes aren't right.

It might be a tangled vein fly, but I'm not experienced enough to work it out. Flies are incredibly hard to ID, there are so many of them, and some species differ by the tiniest of details; like the number of hairs on the thorax. I didn't have time to count hairs today :)))

It looks like it's sprinkled with gold dust in the morning sun, and it's the first time I've seen anything even vaguely interesting in the fly world this season.
