Borve Village

A typical view of a Hebridean village. Borve, 17 miles north of Stornoway. on a winter's afternoon. Cats linger on window-sills, waiting for their owners to let them into the warmth inside. The houses stand scattered across the landscape, each within their own patch of croftland. An Ordnance Survey map will show long and narrow strips of land. In use for some sheep, cattle, or just a dumping ground for junk. Hebrideans very rarely throw something out - it might come in useful.
